Our Christmas show will take place in St James's Hall from 12 noon until 2pm. Please join us for some or all of the event. The timetable is approximate and listed below. Also click on the posters to see our wonderful Raffle Prizes including our top prizes :

Dates for your diary.........


Scoil an Chlochair will close on Friday 20th December at 12noon for Christmas holidays and reopen on Monday, 6th January 2020.


Our school has been notified by the Department of Education and Skills that there will be two dates on which the school will be closed for staff training. The first is on Tuesday, 7th January, 2020. The second is on Friday, 14th February 2020. Please note that the school will be closed for children on these dates.


Enrolment for Junior Infants for September 2020 will take place from Monday, 13th January to Friday, 24th January.

Parent-teacher meetings will take place on Wednesday, 12th and Thursday 13th February. Appointments be arranged early in the new year for these dates.


The school will remain closed on Friday, 14th February for mid-term and will reopen on Monday 24th February.


Swimming for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th classes will commence on Tuesday, 25th February

EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS

We are encouraging all of our children to attend school every day. Last year six children missed no days and came to school every day. So far this year (November 25th) 80 children have had perfect attendance!! Well done!

The new Board of Management has taken office from December 1st 2019. The members are:

  • Dates for 2019-2020
    • Christmas Carol Service in St James's Church  7pm
    • Christmas Show 2019 on Wednesday December 18th from 12 noon to 2pm. 
    • Enrolment for Junior Infants for September 2020 from 13th  to 24th January 2020
    • Confirmation for children in 6th class will take place on Thursday, May 7th 2020 at 11am in St James's Church Kilbeggan.
    • First Confession for children in 2nd class will take place in St James's Church at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 1st 2020.
    • First Holy Communion for children in 2nd class is on Saturday, May 16th 2020 at 11am in St James's Church.



  • Stage School in Kilbeggan - Covering Drama, Singing and Dance while focusing on building confidence and self growth. Classes commence are on Tuesday evenings and commence on 17th September in Kilbeggan National School . For more information contact Colin Hughes 0872812613

If you are available on Monday morning from 8.45 until 9.30 to help with a Garda road safety initiative please check in at the office first thing Monday. 


AGM is scheduled for 22nd of January 2019 

 

MEETINGS ARE HELD MONTHLY AND ALL PARENTS ARE WELCOME

 

 We ask all parents/guardians to consider becoming involved in our Parent Association and in this way become involved in your child’s education. Meetings are a good opportunity to hear about what is happening in school and be involved in planning for the future. Please join us.

SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN!

•The Board of Management of Scoil an Chlochair is concerned about the safety of the children in the Church Car Park. We request the cooperation of drivers who drop off and collect children each day.


•Please observe a speed limit of 5km in the car park


•The ‘Set Down’ area in the car park should be strictly for SET DOWN ONLY. If you are going into the school with your child or children please use the marked parking bays provided.


•When collecting children all parents should park in the parking bays.

No parking or waiting in the clearway areas.


•The children walk over to the church regularly.. Please do not park on the marked pathway.








•Please take care of our children!

Health and Safety


The health and safety of all our school community is most important at all times  Please talk to your child about taking care around the school grounds and when entering and leaving school. We ask that all parents and guardians observe a 5kph through the church car park at all times. Please do not park or wait in the set down area.
