Information for 2018-2019

Summer Term Update

  • Helen Butler from the National Parents Association will meet with children in 3rd and 4th classes on Wednesday 15th May. All parents from all classes are invited to meet Helen for her Parenting and Internet Safety Talk at 8pm on Monday 20th. (Please note change of date) Helen is a wonderful speaker with valuable insight and we encourage all parents to attend. See her website for more information:  https://www.helenbutlercoaching.org/

  • Best wishes to Grace, Emma and  Ryan M from 6th class and Abbie, Ailbhe, Julia K and Megan from 5th class who will be singing in the National Concert Hall on Sunday May 26th for National Children's Choir.

  • Uniform Orders - We are currently taking orders for the new school year. Please contact Florrie in the office before May 24th ( new Junior Infants can order up to May 31st )

  • Standardised (Drumcondra) Testing is taking place this week (beginning 13th May and 20th May. The children in 3rd 4th 5th and 6th will complete the testing online. Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd will complete paper-based testing.  Online testing will take place for two weeks only. It is therefore essential that your child is not absent. Please contact the school office if you have any questions or concerns. 

  • Tennis Lessons for all classes will commence on Monday May 13th 2019

  • Junior Infants 2019-2020 - Parent Meeting on Thursday May 23rd at 8pm. New Junior Infants are welcome from 1pm to 2pm on Friday May 31st. 

  • School Tours are commencing at the end of this month and into June. Tours usually cost between €20 and €35 and you will receive a letter with full details.

  • 2019-2020 school year will commence on August 29th 2019

Parents' Association


Next meeting on Wednesday June 5th  at 8pm 





 We ask all parents/guardians to consider becoming involved in our Parent Association and in this way become involved in your child’s education. Meetings are a good opportunity to hear about what is happening in school and be involved in planning for the future. Please join us.

School Fun Run 

Our school is part of the Schools Excellence Fund Digital Scheme to Support Digital Learning. As part of this programme, we are hoping to purchase a set of ipads/tabs for use by the children in all classes. In order to raise the funds, a school Fun Run took place on Thursday, October 25th.

Thank you for your wonderful contributions.

We have raised €2,587.43 and are now looking at purchasing a set of ipads/tabs

•The Board of Management of Scoil an Chlochair is concerned about the safety of the children in the Church Car Park. We request the cooperation of drivers who drop off and collect children each day.

•Please observe a speed limit of 5km in the car park

•The ‘Set Down’ area in the car park should be strictly for SET DOWN ONLY. If you are going into the school with your child or children please use the marked parking bays provided.

•When collecting children all parents should park in the parking bays.

No parking or waiting in the clearway areas.

•The children walk over to the church regularly.. Please do not park on the marked pathway.

•Please take care of our children!

The health and safety of all our school community is most important at all times  Please talk to your child about taking care around the school grounds and when enntering and leaving school. We ask that all parents and guardians observe a 5kph through the church car park at all times. Please do not park or wait in the set down area.
