Information for 2018-2019
On Monday February 11th Helen Butler from the National Parents Council will visit the school to talk to the children in 5th and 6th classes about keeping safe online. On the same evening we are inviting parents of 5th and 6th classes to a talk by Helen called Parenting of the Internet at 7.30pm. (posted on 29th January 2019)
NO UNIFORM / WEAR RED DAY
Our Parent Association are organising a No Uniform / Wear Red Day in honour of St Valentine. Our day will be on Friday, February 15th and we ask that the children make a small contribution to our Parent Association Funds on this day
Parent-teacher meetings will take place on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th of February. Times have been issued to each family. Please contact the school if you are unable to attend at the arranged times.
A reminder that the school will close from Monday, February 18th for February Mid-Term break. The school will reopen on Monday, February 25th
PARENT ASSOCIATION MEETING
A meeting of our Parents Association will take place on Tuesday, February 26th at 8pm. All welcome
6th CLASS BAKE SALE
One of our past pupils, Bronwyn Egan, will travel to Calcutta with the Hope Foundation over the Easter Holidays. Many thanks to all of our families who supported this event. Through your efforts, we raised €605 for Bronwyn. Well done 6th class for a great job.

MEETINGS ARE HELD MONTHLY AND ALL PARENTS ARE WELCOME
We ask all parents/guardians to consider becoming involved in our Parent Association and in this way become involved in your child’s education. Meetings are a good opportunity to hear about what is happening in school and be involved in planning for the future. Please join us.

School Fun Run
Our school is part of the Schools Excellence Fund Digital Scheme to Support Digital Learning. As part of this programme we are hoping to purchase a set of ipads/tabs for use by the children in all classes. In order to raise the funds a school Fun Run took place on Thursday October 25th.
Thank you for your wonderful contributions.
We have raised €2,587.43 and are now looking at puchasing a set of ipads/tabs

SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN!
•The Board of Management of Scoil an Chlochair is concerned about the safety of the children in the Church Car Park. We request the cooperation of drivers who drop off and collect children each day.
•Please observe a speed limit of 5km in the car park
•The ‘Set Down’ area in the car park should be strictly for SET DOWN ONLY. If you are going into the school with your child or children please use the marked parking bays provided.
•When collecting children all parents should park in the parking bays.
No parking or waiting in the clearway areas.
•The children walk over to the church regularly.. Please do not park on the marked pathway.
•Please take care of our children!

Health and Safety
The health and safety of all our school community is most important at all times Please talk to your child about taking care around the school grounds and when enntering and leaving school. We ask that all parents and guardians observe a 5kph through the church car park at all times. Please do not park or wait in the set down area.
