Ardan Woods visit-Both 2nd class and 6th class had a very enjoyable visit to Ardan Woods on Tuesday January 14th. The boys and girls learned about safety in the forest, were taught how to start a fire with a flint and to top it off they had toasted marshmallows over an open fire! Thanks to Alastair Ferrar for organising the trip and to the Native Woodlands Trust for facilitating both classes. We hope to visit the woods again in the near future.
ARC visit- 5th and 6th had a very interesting visit from the ARC mobile classroom. The students learned about aquaculture in Ireland from Marine biologists. Students had lessons on History, Geography, map reading and even used VR headsets. Thanks to Bord Iascaigh Mhara for this amazing resource. We will hopefully get this back to our school in the future.
Christmas 2024-We have had an extremely busy festive season in school! The senior classes performed brilliantly at our annual Church Carol Service on December 17th, the Junior classes were excellent on stage on December 18th, prizewinners from the recycled art competition received their prizes on December 19th and all classes met Santa Claus on December 20th.The Butterfly Room made a very enjoyable trip to Jungle Joes in Mullingar. Huge thanks to the teachers, Sna's, school staff and Parent's Association for their amazing work with the boys and girls. Enjoy the pictures and video below!
Tag Rugby Blitz: Well done to 5th and 6th class who participated in a Tag Rugby blitz in Tullamore Rugby Club on Thursday the 24th October. The boys had great fun showcasing their skills. Thanks to John Burns for organising the event.
Witches Walk: Well done to all the students and staff for their great effort in dressing up. We had a very successful Witches Walk and raised 2300 euro for the school. Thanks to all for their generosity.
Castletown Geoghegan Visit-We were delighted to have the victorious hurlers from Castletown Geoghegan on Monday the 4th of November. They won the Senior Hurling title against Lough Lene Gaels last Saturday. Best of luck to the team in the upcoming Leinster campaign. Thanks to Damian McLoughlin for organizing the visit.
